How to complete the Basketball Scoresheet by a Duty team

Written by Discoden on September 2nd, 2011. Posted in How to guide

As per request at the Team Captains Meeting #2 I wanted to address this topic and help guide Filcom Bball players how to complete certain sections of the scoresheet.

This would be  a suitable guide for any league who uses the FIBA endorsed scoresheet such as players from ACT Basketball.

Audience:

This task is normally completed by a duty player who takes on the role of Scoresheet Keeper during a Filcom Basketball game.

Focus

In this guide we will look at how to complete the Running Score, the Score per Quarter and the Final Score sections of the scoresheet.

The Running score

2 Point field goal

Scenario:Number 12 made a two point field goal. Total team score is 2 points.

  • -Draw a diagonal line on the total team points made.
  • -Write the jersey number of the player who scored.

I hope this article clarifies a few things.
Soon I will illustrate the rest of the section of the scoresheet which includes, the timeouts, fouls and MVP votes after the game.  I just wanted to publish this before the week is over.

This information will form as part of the updated Filcom Bball’s Rules and Regulation.

Please feel free to comment (be nice and keep the feedback constructive as much as possible!).

OZNoy Wild Cats chasing the dream season

Written by Discoden on October 20th, 2011. Posted in Game articles

This is an article contributed by Neil Benedictos. Thanks Neil!

Currently undefeated Oznoy wild cats, chasing a perfect season, previously achieved by the Wolves.
After improving their record to 11-0, the Oznoy Wildcats is only 1 win away from a perfect regular season.  The Oznoy wild cats, has been unstoppable this season, being the only undisputed team thus far.  In their first 3 games, they smashed the Knights in the first round, followed by a narrow win against Heisenberg, and made a statement by beating the former Champions Back 2 Basics in the third round.
Since then they have cruised past anyone they have faced.

Last week, The Wildcats played  the 8th placed Oznoy Keystone wealth, led by Hardy Diesel.  The Keystone wealth played tough and hard and made it a contest for almost the entire game, but came up short in the end.
The Oznoy Wildcats have been the most consistent team this season, consisting of some of the most talented players in the league, including; Jovel, Trevor, Dennis Strav, Steve and their star guard Riccie; this team has not shown any weaknesses in their line-up.  They have the best offence in the league this season and has the 3rd best record in defence behind the Mighty Ducks and Phoenix.

This week they face the very fiery Wolves, which coincidently currently hold the record for achieving the perfect season.  Not only the Wolves won every regular season games two seasons ago, they also went on to win every playoff games including a buzzer beater finish by Downtown Kurt, breaking the Back 2 Basic’s and their fan’s heart in the semis. They then went on to capture the well-deserved title against Phoenix.

The new look Wolves have added some young and quick legs to their line up since then.  Daniel and Chris have been more than just ad-ons to this team.  Chris has been a go-to man right from the start and fitted well in the team’s chemistry, Daniel, a young fresh guard, compliments the team well with his long range shots and quick to the basket plays.  The captain Eddie has been very pleased with the young guard’s adjustment to the team.

The original Wolves and Veterans, Eric, Eddie, Abet, Rob and Kurt are still at their old tricks and doing what they do best, winning.  Last week they’ve recorded their 7th win out of 8 games, and improving their season’s record to 8-3, placing them equal 3rd with Mighty Ducks, who they dis-mantled 2 weeks ago.  Despite having struggled against Pacmen last week, the Wolves still fancy their chances against Wildcats.  With everyone healthy and confident the Wolves will be a tough hurdle to overcome.

Some of the great matchups to watch will be ‘The battle of the Centres’, Steve Favell vs Brad Morgan, in the forwards, it will be between Dennis Stravopodis and Eric Jarcia, and at guards the exciting Riccie Lleones vs the king of defence Abet Revilla
.
So make sure you don’t miss this exciting Round 13 match this Saturday at 3pm, October 22.

Check the schedule for other game times.
